Hey there!

Yesterday I shared with you how you need to find your own method of eating and exercise that works for you.

 

I've found that intermittent fasting works for me on a consistent basis. I guess my body just accepts the routine I've gotten into:

 

  • Fasting until 12 PM every day

  • Not over eating for the rest of the day

  • A couple of different exercises at least once every 2 days (including HIIT - High Intensity Interval Training)

 

But my method might not appeal or even work for you. That means you need to be willing to TRY different methods.

 

So today I want you to watch a video that my best friend Holly Anderson sent me. But it's only for us girls. Sorry guys! One day I might find a good video for you too.

Hey there!

I was on YouTube the other day and came across this video from Entertainment Tonight promoting one of Jillian Michaels' books. In the video she slams different dieting methods including fasting. She says that it's bad and ruins your metabolism:

There are so many ways to diet and I would dare to say that most of them work ... but not for everyone. I've found my method ... and that method is intermittent fasting. But that method doesn't work for everyone. Not everyone can stick to it. It's just like the Atkin's Diet. People have tried it and lost weight successfully. They have got a result. You shouldn't bag them for doing it. Some people think eating what the Atkin's Diet suggests is crazy. But for some people it just works.

The bottom line is you need to find your own eating and exercise routine that works for you. You need to get a result.

I came across a website promoting intermittent fasting and its benefits. Fasting is a method of dieting which is thousands of years old ... the Bible even talks about it! One of the articles you should read if you have any doubts about fasting talks about Debunking Fasting Myths. Fasting is a viable option.

Hey there!

I just read an article about learning to love doing exercise. It's based on the book by Joanne Hanson, a health and weight loss expert and author of What's Your Excuse For Not Getting Fit?

 

I agree with what she says ... "Exercise does take time and effort, but if you find something you enjoy, establish a habit and track your progress, you’ll find it will get easier to stick with and your body will reward you." That's what I've found too.

I started my weight loss journey in September. My husband, Desmond, inspired me to take action.

I'm consistently losing weight every day. But some days I have setbacks.

One time I decided to try fasting until 5 PM instead of 12 PM - in other words only drinking water and denying myself of any food or other drinks until 5 PM.

I can tell you now that for me it just doesn't work.

I found myself becoming too hungry after 5 PM. Sure I ate a lovely dinner and all was fine. But when Desmond went to work that night I couldn't help myself - I sneaked out to the McDonald's drive-thru and ate another meal.

The next morning I hadn't put on any weight ... but I hadn't lost anything either.

The key for me is consistency now. Start eating at 12 PM every day. Exercise at least once every 2 days. And it works!
